Outpatient Services
Outpatient services including a specimen collection centre and blood taking are available at both the Midland site. A physician's order is required for all laboratory testing. Outpatient services for blood collection (phlebotomy) and ECG are located in the newly renovated Laboratory at the Midland site. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last patient being registered at 3 p.m. Patients are served in order of arrival. No appointment is necessary.

Laboratory Testing
The laboratory at GBGH is a core laboratory with routine chemistry, hematology and immunohematology analysis performed in-house. Tests not performed at GBGH are referred to an outside laboratory.

The laboratory at GBGH is located on the Midland site. The laboratory provides diagnostic support for both inpatients and outpatients

The laboratory is staffed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays to process routine inpatient and outpatient testing. A small complement of staff is scheduled to work off-hours to provide laboratory support for inpatients and emergency.
